“Sandra Cisneros Though”
Cisneros thing boys and girls should be raised the same ways. Even though she did not state it particular in the book, she gives lots of reasons why i thing she believes so herself. In one of her Vedanta from the book “The house on Mango Street”, she said, Sally dad was very strict on her, because, he had a sister and she put her family to shame, so he don’t want her to do the same to him, so that why when he sees her with boys he beats her.
Than she wrote and said that, she want Sally to go away in a far away land, where she will be love and love and no one will make her sad or hurt her again. She believes girls are treated different, because family believe the girls children can put them to shame and ruin their name, more than the boys children in the family.
In one of her other Vent-ant she wrote that Alicia was afraid of nothing except four-legged fur.And fathers. She put this, because its mostly true, girls children are raise to be afraid of men. They are raised with the fear of saying do what ever a men say you should do. While boys on the other hand are raised to stand up and fight for themselves. Girls are also raised with saying that men should fight our battler and we should not do those things our self.
Than the one i like the most was when she talked about this girl that Mom died, so now the girl has to drop out of school, and take care of her little siblings, which she don’t thing is fair. If that was a boy the dad was never going to tell him to draped out of school, because boys are raised with the idea that women are supposed to take care of children and looked after the house, while the men go to work and take care of the family needs.
Than the other one Esperanza said in the house her brothers talk to she and her sister, but as soon as they go outside, they don’t talked to them and they goes off and talk with their friends. Then instead of her playing she has to take care of her little sister. She and her sister are very separated from the boys in the house, because that was how they were raised.
My final thought like i said before, the Aurthur think boys and girls should be raise the same, and i also agree with her.
You have lots of good evidence in this one to show why you believe what you do. Next time we're in the lab (or at my computer in class in a spare moment) I want to talk to you about this post to show you how to set up the quotes so it's easier to tell where they start and stop...ask me about it!
